Enter The Colo(u)rism Project!

The Colo(u)rism Project is a media-literacy education initiative aimed at critically engaging women of color and youth.

TCP is a 100% independent initiative and was officially founded in 2012!

The motto is: Shifting media’s skin color narratives from profitable to equitable.

What we do and how we do it?

I analyze and work in various media forms like design, digital media, and children’s publishing. Whatever seems engaging, current, and innovative.

I do this in digital and brick-and-mortar environments.

I conduct workshops. I interview scholars. I do research.

What we’re asking of you?

First of all, turn on your analytical minds. But not to just debate. Intellectualizing is complicity.

The questions aren’t: Are skin-lightening products good/ethical? Or if they work? Or what are the origin stories? Ask, How can we change our beliefs, thoughts, and actions—individual, social, and collective. How can we act for equity?
